Mexico vs. USA World Cup Qualifier Match Receives Over 360,000 Streams at Futbolestelar.tv

Miami, Fl – August 19, 2009 – TOn Wednesday, August 12, the much-anticipated Mexico vs. USA World Cup qualifier match was streamed live by Terra.com and Telemundo at futbolestelar.tv, receiving over 360,000 streams, 205,000 of which were live. The co-branded site www.futbolestelar.tv offered soccer fans front seat row tickets to the match, as well as the latest news, interviews, videos, photos, contests and player statistics

“We were thrilled to provide our core audience with live, streaming coverage of the Mexico vs. USA World Cup qualifier match,” said Fernando Rodriguez, CEO, Terra USA. “And we are thrilled to say that TerraTV saw a record audience during the game.”

In addition to being a record breaking audience number of streams for a live game, user interaction was also at an all time high; during the game there were over 2,500 users connected in over 60 chat rooms discussing every angle of the exciting action. Upon the conclusion of the game and extending to the day after, there were an additional 144,000 streams of related content. On game day alone, Terra’s sports channel received a record 290,000 US unique users.

For advertisers, it too was an unprecedented experience. Clients received over 216,000 pre-rolls and over 2 million media units in total delivered on game day.

On the heels of this exciting success, it has been confirmed that two upcoming high-profile games will also be streamed live; Costa Rica vs. Mexico on September 5th and Mexico vs. Honduras on September 9th.
