Terra Launches First Online Bilingual Makeover Tool for U.S. Hispanic Consumers

Terra launches with ModiFace, a virtual makeover leader, for their debut in the U.S. Hispanic Market

Miami, FL – December 20, 2011 - Terra, a global digital media company and content producer with a presence in 18 countries, launched the first Hispanic focused bilingual virtual makeover tool (http://en.terra.com/virtual-makeover/) through its partnership with ModiFace, the leading provider of virtual makeovers and try-on simulation technologies. This HTML-based technology is compatible with all web-enabled computers, tablets, and mobile devices. ModiFace is already the creator of the #1 iPhone cosmetic makeover application and will launch the tool as a smart phone app for Terra following the platform’s web launch.

Terra’s users are able to upload their portrait-style photograph and the tool will automatically calibrate the positioning of the face. From there, users can play with their look virtually using cosmetics, skin-care, fashion options and hair products. Users can try on hairstyles including those of their favorite celebrities, change their hair color and experiment with new makeup products.

This product launch offers online Latinas the ability to play with their look while learning from Terra’s beauty experts. The beauty editors will create their own makeovers to be featured on the site (http://www.terra.com/vidayestilo/virtual-makeover/) and users will have the opportunity to vote for the best looks.

This new tool also offers unique content and interactive features such as Modiface’s DressMixer. Users can virtually try on dresses on their personal photo. Users can save and share their favorite dresses via social media, including Facebook and engage their friends to vote on their favorite looks.

“The launch of this inaugural bilingual tool represents Terra’s commitment to offer our users and our advertisers original, innovative and engaging content in both languages,” said Liz Sarachek Blacker, Chief Revenue Officer, Terra USA.

Online Latinas can now try on the trends of the moment and determine which ones are right for them, without having to actually try them on. “We are honored to be the first Hispanic digital media company to offer virtual makeover technology and to provide the tool in both English and Spanish for the convenience of our Latinas users,” said Ingrid Otero, Director of Programming and Content, Terra USA.

ModiFace will be integrated into photo galleries and articles so that users will be able to take celebrity looks right out of Terra’s pages and try them on themselves. Also, they will be able to upload their own makeover photos in which they copied the look of their favorite celebrity including hair and makeup for a celebrity look-a-like section.

“We are pleased to partner with Terra, the market leader in the US Hispanic market, said Dr. Parham Aarabi, Founder and CEO of ModiFace. “We realize the power of the online consumer, especially Latina women, and are proud to provide them with complete head-to-toe, web, tablet, kiosk, mobile makeover experiences,” added Dr. Aarabi.
