Rummikub
With a desire to showcase the wonderful Latin American experience, I created a concept that enabled me to present the landscape of Latin America -- by this; I mean the people, places and por supuesto, the natural, beautiful and varied topography. I also wanted to shed light on the amazing talent that exists south of the equator, in the countries which are represented.
Authenticity was key. For each story in this collection, each set in a different country, the cast and crew are all native-born. Each story stands on its own and is unrelated to one another, but together, they form a common bond that hopes to dispel any misconceived notions and stereotypes that the rest of the world tends to garner towards Latin America.
The Latin American film industry is growing quickly, and the Internet is playing a key role. I approached Terra Networks, the largest Latin-American-based Internet portal in the world, to be part of this exciting project. "Terra Shorts" was born and the adventure began. This collection of four stories captured on film, features renowned names from the world of cinema from each nation - 4 countries, 4 landscapes, 4 directors, 4 different cast and crew teams. Four stories, one common denominator: Latin America.
RUMMIKUB is one of these stories.
