A professional covering plenty of ground…

At a young age, Emmanuel knew his life would reside on the playing field…! And that baseball, considered the “national pastime,” would be a diamond in the rough waiting to be polished and shine around the world.

Emmanuel focused his heart and attention in pursuing a dream, and today at age 29, has gained the respect from his team, the two-time World Champion Florida Marlins, and members of the international media for his hard work and dedication in ensuring the distribution and sharing of baseball with the rest of the world.

“It has been truly a challenge that has cost me plenty of time and dedication, baseball and sports are such a competitive world, but my efforts have paid off. Have a clear goal and never desist is the key…” said Emmanuel.

Jorge Cantu, the Marlins third baseman and one of the most popular Mexican players in Major League Baseball, recently toured Mexico to promote the upcoming World Series, that just started on October 28th. This year’s championship series is expected to be one of the most watched World Series internationally—and according to him, Emmanuel has played an important role in his position as the Director of Broadcasting for the team.

“Emmanuel is the type of person, like myself, that started playing baseball at a young age at the old parks in his hometown. Baseball is a passion for him, I believe that is why he understands it so well and lives it fully… that helps him promote and export our sport...he is a key element in this process,” said Cantu.

As a undergraduate student at Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah, his first international exposure came with the coverage of the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. “Was a great effort, plenty of sleepless nights furnished my fascination for sports broadcasting…I never felt tired. The experience of covering a world-class event for my home country as a field producer rewarded me with vast knowledge and an abundance of acquaintances in the industry,” said Emmanuel.

Emmanuel is responsible for the distribution and commercialization of the television and radio broadcasts in both English and Spanish for the team. In the baseball world, the percentage of Hispanic players is substantially high and of sum importance. Fredi Gonzalez, manager of the Florida Marlins, concisely noted.

“Emmanuel understands both audiences perfectly, in both languages….as a Mexican born and for his vast stay in this country. I could said he is “bilingually athletic.” He comprehends baseball from both angles, as Hispanic and as American,” said the Cuban-born manager.
