Hugo is satified with the Tri and with Nery

Mexican national team coach, Hugo Sanchez, is proud of the growth his team displayed during the match against Iran.

03/JUN/2007 – The skill and maturity displayed by Sanchez’ pupils like Francisco Fonseca, Andres Guardado, Jared Borgetti, Nery Castillo, and Gerardo Torrado have Mexico feeling confident in their quest of winning the Gold Cup taking place in the U.S.

“We are happy with the team’s performance, each game the team gets better. We are regaining the form we displayed in previous games, and today we showed that there is no drop in play when other players come in. We also have gotten better as far as scoring.”, stated Sanchez.

Sanchez lamented the fact that Nery Castillo was not able to score a goal, however he was not short on words to praise Castillo.

“Nery today showed glimpses of his skill, his pace, his aggressiveness, and I think this will be positive for the team’s performance in the future matces. Each time he play there will be less people that doubt his ability, because there are very few players in the World like Nery”.

“It was a very special game for him and I am convinced he will show his appreciation for the support they showed here in his city of birth, and all he need was a goal to finish off his good night”, stated Sanchez.

On Sunday the “Tri” will report to their training center , and then they will have their afternoon off and they will begin practicing again on Monday in the Azteca Stadium.
