Mexico tried to extend their undefeated streak against Honduras

10/JUN/2007 – The Mexican team coached by Hugo Sánchez will trying to make it to the quarterfinals if they win, they play a team that needs points to stay alive.
Mexico, favorite to win the Gold Cup, had problems against Cuba. This Sunday they must play better if they expect to win the Gold Cup, which they last won in 2003.
Sanchez left stars such as Carlos Salcido of PSV Eindhoven, Ricardo Osorio of Stuttgart, and Gerardo Torrado on the bench. They will most likely play against Honduras.
Though Honduras lost against Panama they showed fight after being a man down after Wilson Palacios was red carded.
While Mexico has four Gold Cup titles, Honduras’ best finish was in 1991 when they lost in the final against the U.S. Mexico should not underestimate their rivals seeing as they were almost eliminated in World Cup 2002 by them.
