The U.S. waits as El Salvador and Guatemala look for their ticket to the quarterfinals.

El Salvador and Guatemala will be looking to represent Group B in the quarterfinal of the Gold Cup, but their rivals could make that hard.

Salvadorians and Guatemalans are tied for second place in Group B, which is led by the United States, which has 6 points.

The goal difference favors El Salvador who will facing the hosts of the Gold Cup, who are already in the next round.

Guatemala, however, will face Trinidad and Tobago whom has no points.

Even though they are already in the next round, no one expects the U.S. not to play at its full potential.

Bob Bradley wants his team to finish a lot better than they have done, he also wants them to play better and be more consistent.

“We had many chances and we did not capitalize on them. We have to score more goals”, stated Bradley.

Carlos De Los Cobos, El Salvador’s need a tie to stay in the competition.

His plan is to “bulk up the defense even more because it helps them and they need to”, because “with the tie we will advance”.

The bad part for El Salvador is that they will have many players not playing due to injuries, the biggest absentee will be goalkeeper Juan José Gómez, who was injured in their 1 – 0 loss to Guatemala.

Víctor Merino Dubón (knee) and Eliseo Quintanilla (suspension) also will not play for El Salvador. In Guatemala only Claudio Albizuris (suspension) will not be able to play.

“We are on the right track. I have told the guys that they should be happy, but not conformed because we have to fix the peaks and valleys. We also cannot forget that Trinidad and Tobago just played a World Cup”, stated Hernán Darío Gómez.

Carlos Ruiz, the star on the team, agreed with Gomez when he said that Guatemala is on the right track, “but that does not mean we have won anything”.

“We have to be ambitious and come out with everything we have to stay alive in the cup”’ he stated.
