The U.S. and Mexico will dispute the third final against each other
The two favorites, USA and Mexico, will face each other in the final of the ninth edition of the most important tournament of the region, the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
22/JUN/2007-The game will be played at 2 in the afternoon local time in Chicago’s Soldier field. .
The U.S. will dispute their sixth final in the tournament’s history. They will be looking for their fourth title, their first since the 2005 title when they beat Panama in the penalty shootout.
Mexico will be partaking in their fifth title game and will try to keep their undefeated streak in the finals after four championships.
This will be the second title game between the U.S. and Mexico, which won the 1993 and 1998 finals by a score of 4-0 and 1-0 respectively.
The other U.S. and Mexico match up in the Gold Cup was in the 1991 edition of the Gold Cup, which the U.S. won 2-0.
Along with the U.S. and Mexico the only other team to win a Gold Cup title was Canada, when they beat Colombia 2-0 in 2000.
The winner of the title will also represent the CONCACAF in the FIFA Confederations Cup.
