Los Cachorros de Chicago pusieron el lunes al lanzador venezolano Carlos Silva en la lista de incapacitados mientras se somete a exámenes cardíacos, al día siguiente de que una arritmia lo obligara a dejar su apertura contra los Rockies de Colorado en la primera entrada.

Silva estaba de vuelta en Chicago el lunes tras pasar la noche en un hospital de Denver. El equipo no fijó una fecha para que regrese a jugar.

"Ahora mismo, estoy haciendo todo lo que me dicen que haga, porque sé que harán lo mejor para mí", dijo Silva el lunes antes que los Cachorros enfrentaran a los Cerveceros de Milwaukee. "Me siento mejor. Estaba lanzando en mi bullpen y sentí que mi corazón latía muy rápido".

Un preparador físico de los Cachorros fue a la lomita luego que Silva dio boleto al segundo bateador que enfrentó. Silva permaneció en el partido y permitió un sencillo a su compatriota Carlos González y un doble productor por regla a Troy Tulowitzki.

El piloto interino Allan Trammell y el preparador volvieron al montículo y Silva salió por el zurdo James Russell.

"Fue un momento que me asustó porque me sentía mal cuando me pusieron en la ambulancia. Creo que fue la primera vez que puse a mi familia antes que el béisbol", dijo el venezolano. "Lo único en que pensaba era mi familia".

Silva ha sido uno de los puntos positivos de la temporada para los Cachorros. Tiene foja de 10-5 y efectividad de 3.92.

Para reemplazarlo, Chicago adquirió el lunes los contratos de los derechos Casey Coleman y Thomas Diamond del equipo de Triple A de Iowa. Diamond se encargará de la apertura del martes contra los Cerveceros y Coleman se sumará al bullpen.

Diamond tenía foja de 5-4 con efectividad de 3.16 en 21 aperturas para Iowa y Coleman tenía récord de 10-7 con efectividad de 4.07.
