El campocorto de los Mets José Reyes resintió una dolencia en el costado derecho y tuvo que salir en el segundo inning del juego del jueves contra los Marlins de la Florida.

El pelotero se resintió de un tirón en el músculo oblicuo del costado derecho, que lo obligó a perderse el Juego de las Estrellas el mes pasado.

Los Mets informaron que la dolencia es "leve", pero que el dominicano deberá evitar cualquier tipo de actividad "hasta que desaparezca el dolor".

Reyes quebró una mala racha de 11 turnos sin imparable al conectar un sencillo en el segundo inning ante Aníbal Sánchez. No mostró que se lastimó al llegar a la primera base, pero un preparador fue a verlo y poco después se fue a la cueva.

Fue reemplazado por el novato panameño Rubén Tejada, quien quedó como campocorto.

Reyes se lesionó inicialmente el músculo oblícuo el 39 de junio cuando estaba en una práctica de bateo previa a un partido ante los Marlins en San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Regresó a la alineación desde el 6 de julio pero ha batallado con la lesión pues abandonó un partido ante los Bravos de Atlanta unos días después y luego de completar una jugada en el cuadro.

Una resonancia magnética en ese momento resultó negativa pero Reyes decidió no arriesgarse y se ausentó del Juego de Estrellas disputado en Anaheim.

Reyes comenzó la temporada en la lista de lesionados con un problema en la tiroides, pero ha sido una de las pocas armas ofensivas en la diezmada alineación de los Mets cuando está sano.

Su promedio en la temporada es de .286 con 28 robos y 73 carreras anotadas.
