SYNOPSIS:
For anyone who has ever experienced the happiness
of Christmas anywhere, particularly in the amazement
and magic of Santa Claus, Miracle on 34th Street
is a must-see film, especially for Christmas. Edmund
Gwenn is, without a doubt, the most believable screen
Santa that ever was.
Natalie Wood (in her first major role) is adorable
as the little Susan who pulls on Santa's beard
to check on his authenticity. Maureen O'Hara and
the rest of the cast are also superb.
Miracle
has been remade twice since its original debut, but both versions pale in comparison. Gwenn's portrayal
of the "real" Kris Kringle will make believers
out of the entire family, even if you're old enough
to know the truth. He's that good.
