SYNOPSIS:
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation maintains
the custom of the luckless Griswald family, this
time allowing them to remain at home while the hard-up
relatives visit for the holidays. Christmas Vacation
has all of the unforgettable essentials we've come
to expect from the Vacation movies -- Chevy Chase
as Clark, the clumsy father who wants everything
to be perfect, Beverly D'Angelo as the tolerant,
yet clueless wife, Randy Quaid as the hilarious
idiot cousin whom no one wants to claim, and of
course, in keeping with tradition, two new actors
as the Griswald kids.
This is really one of those movies with non-stop
fun. Every single scene is memorable and will
have you rolling on the floor with laughter. The
Griswalds invite their parents home for Christmas,
and, of course, Cousin Eddie (Quaid) shows up
too, bringing his whole family and parking his
Winnebago in front of the house. Poor Clark must
deal with Eddie, a sick dog, a runaway squirrel,
a stingy boss, and snotty neighbors (one of whom
is Seinfeld's Julia Louis-Dreyfus) before
being able to celebrate a true Christmas blessing.
