If there is a flower that reflects the holiday season it is the Poinsettia.

The Euphorbia Pulcherrima is a shrub that can resemble a tree, reaching 1 to 4 meters in height.

The name "Poinsettia" is derived from the fact that this plant blooms during the holiday season. The leaves of the plant are generally bright red, although other varieties in white, yellow and pink are available.

The Poinsettia is an indoor plant and -- contrary to popular belief -- if well cared for, it can live for years.

This festive plant originated in Mexico and is a member of the Euforbia family.
