Napkins
Napkins are often the forgotten accessory. If used correctly, they can add a flare of elegance to the Christmas table, as well as highlight the tonalities and colors of the decorations.
Generally, napkins and tablecloths are made of the same materials, but this doesn't always have to be the case. Using materials and colors to create contrast can produce effective results, as long as there is harmony and/or they add flavor to the table. Combining green napkins with a red tablecloth and vice versa will create a Christmas-like environment. You can also use napkins with themes, as well as gold and silver ones.
Paper napkins are also an option and can be used to create a very unique setting. Some paper napkins even feel like cloth and finding them in the right colors should not be a problem.
Napkin holders
For an added touch, use napkin holders to unite the colors of the table. Napkin holders come in various shapes and sizes as well as material. Finding them in sterling silver, gold, wood, plastic or even wrapped in various fabrics, is not difficult.
There is no set standard for decorating a holiday table. If you're not a fan of the traditional napkin holders, there are various ways of getting around it. You can make your own napkin holders by tying ribbons around the napkins. All it takes is a little creativity.
