The Gold Table
A table draped in gold is most eye-catching for this time of year. It is more suitable for a New Year's Eve party than for more family-oriented celebrations like Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, for example, when decorations are less extreme.
You can get an excellent effect, simply laying a piece of tulle fabric, or even buying a separate piece of fabric, over a solid white tablecloth.
To make a stronger statement, you can add gold candles to a centerpiece made with matching leaves, and candelabra adorned with gold tinsel and garlands over a purple porcelain or clay underplate. This can all be combined with an elegant and bold set of china with shades that complement the gold color scheme, such as white or blue, for example. You can also add frosted glasses or glasses with golden highlights and a stainless steel set of flatware with edges in the same tones. If the china you are using is white, you can complement it with bright red napkins to add a spark of fun and bring everything together.
