 HAIR CARE

 HAIR CARE

Hair care and treatment:

For a nice mane, we have to start with a shampoo with neutral pH and vitamins that will preserve the acid balance of the hair. Don't get slack with your monthly check for split ends. Dry hair gets damaged more often because its natural oil doesn't reach the ends. To avoid this you must get your hair cut regularly.

For oily hair, the solution is to add a light oil before shampooing. Yes, we know it sounds weird, but if the scalp already has oil on it, it will stop producing its own oil and the imbalance will be neutralized. Massage your hair with a light oil and let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing.

Other products, like a moisturizing hair treatment with proteins will also help revitalize your scalp. Leave the moisturizer on for 20 minutes and damaged hair will regain its strength and elasticity. Also, applying some serum, a liquid kind of non-greasy wax, will prevent static and will moisturize at the same time.

If you're going to use mousse, make sure it doesn't contain alcohol, because it can dry out your hair. Another bad thing for your hair is using a very hot hair dryer. It dulls and kills the natural shine of your hair.

Hair problems are many times associated with a lack of vitamins. Dandruff is attributed to a lack of vitamin B, and an iron deficiency translates into dull brittle hair.

Tricks for a spectacular mane:

Fine heavy hair will never perm well, but it is possible to give it some volume and movement with Velcro rollers. The first roller goes in the center of the bangs and towards the back. This way you can soften the natural tendency of the hair to part in the middle.

Wet each lock with water. Undo them by pulling up and spraying with a light hairspray. To look good, ends must be wrapped tightly around the roller and no hair should come out while you're rolling it. They should be rolled all the way just above the root.

Once you finish taking all of the rollers off, spray again with a light hairspray. Dry with a hair dryer for half an hour (if it's not totally dry, it will not work) and wait five minutes for your hair to cool down so the rollers work best.

To avoid getting into a mess, take out all the hairpins first, and then the rollers. Be careful when unrolling them; velcro rollers cling very easily to long hair, but to be beautiful one must suffer. When you're done, fix with hairspray so that it stays in shape all night. One last tip: if your hair is very long, don't abuse it with hair dryers and irons because you'll end up toasting it.
