MISTLETOE
For the ancient Celts, the vine-like mistletoe possessed magical powers that protected them from harm and evil spirits. Some believed its powers could make them invisible. It was even thought to aid women through childbirth. Through countless generations, the mistletoe legend spread throughout Europe. It made its way to the Mediterranean, where the Italians have been credited with originating the myth that the plant can have an amorous influence. |

According to the legend, if you are under the mistletoe during Christmas, you have to kiss the person you love to have good luck and eternal love.
American author Washington Irving wrote that a man could kiss a woman under the mistletoe if he picked a berry each time he puckered up, that is until the berries were gone.
