Charlyn DING
Age: 19
When I was 13 years old I went to Shanghai to study. Being the first Singaporean in that school I had to make extra efforts to introduce Singaporean to my schoolmates. Four years later I participated in the Taiwan immersion programme. I was in the Singaporean contingency that was sent to Hong Kong for the YMCA Camp. I passed with a distinction in "Effective Speaking" from Trinity College London and for the "theory and practical in music for the piano" for the Associated Board of Music. I also did ballet at the Singapore Ballet Academy. Ballet cultivated my passion for dancing, so I took courses in jazz, funk, modern tap, and even line dancing. Sport is another important aspect of my life, especially roller-blading and swimming. I also help out at the Metropolitan YMCA Youth Camps as the facilitator and Camp director. I am currently studying architecture. I aspire to build a memorable building that any would respect and admire. I speak Mandarin and English.
