Los sentimientos de traición e injusticia entran a la historia con la cual un niño de 7 años (o un adulto) podría vivir.

Monica wants Cecilia to like her. Cecilia wants to be better than Monica. These two 7 year old best friends, convince the kids in the school bus to buy the cookies Monica made. They feel super rich. Until the moment when temptation and one’s own wishes wins over friendship. The feelings of betrayal and injustice nit this story that any 7 year old kid (or grown-up?) could live.

Carmin tiene solo 10 años y esta descubriendo tempranamente su sexualidad. Juega a ser una mujer en la soledad del cuarto de su madre, pero los zapatos de taco último bastión de femineidad no soportan todavía sus torpes e infantiles movimientos. Su madre la envía a llevarle unos remedios a su abuela enferma, en el camino alguien comienza a seguirla. Nuevamente en su casa Carmin por fin será la mujer que soñaba ser.

Carmine is only 10 years old and she is early discovering her sexuality. She plays being a grown up woman in the solitude of her mother’s bedroom but the high heel shoes, last bastion of femininity, can’t bear yet her clumsy childish movements. Her mother sends her to take some medicine to her sick grandmother, on her way somebody starts following her. Once back at her home, Carmine will be the woman she dreamed to be.

Cada fin de semana, decenas de inmigrantes latinoamericanos acuden a los clubes de baile de Jackson Heights, en el barrio neoyorkino de Queens. Allí les esperan las “two-dollars ballerinas”, mujeres que, previo pago de dos dólares por canción, serán sus compañeras de baile. Two Dollars Dance nos descubre el alma de estos clubes a través de Víctor, uno de sus clientes, y Liz, bailarina.

Every weekend, dozen of Latino immigrants pack the dance clubs of Jackson Heights, in Queens. There, they meet the “two-dollars ballerinas”, women who will be they dance floor partners for two dollars each song. Two Dollars Dance unveils the soul of this clubs through Victor, one of their patrons, and Liz, one of these ballerinas.
