The Sydney Yacht Center is considered as one of the best routes for kayak/canoeing in the world.
The cost was approximately $21 million and is located 44 kilometers to the west of the Olympic Village.
The construction of this centrose finished in October of 1997. The route for the competitions is approximately 2,300 meters, to a side of this route lies an artificial lake which was built for training.
To support the ecology, marine plants were introduced and the waste water that it is generated inside the center it channeled to a water center treatment that avoids the contamination of the surrounding areas.
