WHAT: "The Boys Collection" Photography Exhibition by Melissa Rodwell
"The Boys Collection" is a body of work that challenges society's viewpoint on what is perceived as "sexy." Melissa Rodwell's photographs celebrate the youthful male body in striking poses that emanate energy, sexuality and vulnerability with a distinct '70s glam-rock, androgynous edge.
Photographed over a three-year period, Rodwell envisioned a body of images that would bring back the erotic sexuality of the young male at a time when the current Zeitgeist is oversaturated with female body-consciousness. Weary of shooting female models, she turned her lens to male subjects with breathtaking and thought-provoking results.
"The Boys Collection" is Rodwell's fourth solo show. The Miami installation follows her critically and publicly acclaimed exhibition in Los Angeles.
