Activist of the Year
It is a pleasure to announce a new initiative to recognize the vital work of LGBT activists in the US and Latin America. www.todogay.com is a new channel within Terra USA, the world’s biggest Spanish-language online portal. We are dedicated to offering an online space so that LGBT individuals and organizations can connect with each other and most importantly, be a source of news, entertainment, video and pictures for the community.

We would like to invite you to be part of this exciting new program at Todogay; we want to find the person who is doing the most to end homophobia and discrimination on behalf of the LGBT community.
We will nominate one person per month and will ultimately choose the honoree in the month of December 2008. An article will be written on the nominee with pictures, videos, biography and heavy promotion in all our channels.
Todogay currently has over 265 thousand unique users and we get over 2.26 million page views every month. We want to make sure that our users get to know those individuals who are making equality happen on a daily basis.
If you are interested in being part of this exciting and ground breaking award and recognition, please get in contact with us at lgbt@terra.com so we can include your organization as a community sponsor.
We also need you and the members of your organization or group to help us find the best candidates month by month (10, one for each month left in 2008). Please send your suggestions for nominees to lgbt@terra.com with your suggestions and encourage you users to also send their nominee ballots and help us to get the word out about this new online space. (Forms are at the bottom of this page)
All nominees and winner will be chosen by the community. The winner will be recognized as the “Activista del Año.” We want to make sure that the community is aware of this online space, especially dedicated to our issues and lives.
We look forward to hearing from you and start a working relationship so we can bring more visibility to our issues and recognition for our activists who make it all happen!
