New York City Wine & Food Festival
In 2002 the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by Food & Wine Magazine made its debut in sunny Miami. Seven years later it’s grown into one of the largest cultural events of the year featuring the best and brightest stars of the culinary world. This coming October, festival organizer and creator Lee Brian Schrager will pay homage to one of the greatest restaurant cities in the world and bring this weekend-long extravaganza to New York City.

New York Offers

Mirroring the charitable component of South Beach, the New York City festival will benefit the hunger relief programs Food Bank for New York City and Share Our Strength. 100 percent of the net proceeds from the festival will go directly to these community based initiatives.
Taking place primarily in the fashionable Meatpacking District and select landmark settings such as the DUMBO section of Brooklyn, the festival will seamlessly integrate into the pace and lifestyle of the city.
This year’s talents include Rachael Ray, Paula Deen, Giada De Laurentiis, Tyler Florence, Alton Brown, Masaharu Morimoto, Guy Fieri, Bobby Flay, Ferran Adria, Patrick & Gina Neely, Alain Ducasse, Gordon Ramsey and Nigella Lawson to name a few.
The Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival is produced by Karlitz & Company and Southern Wines & Spirits of New York.
Food Bank For New York City
Food Bank For New York City recognizes 25 years as the city’s major provider of food to New Yorkers in need. The organization works to end hunger and increase access to affordable, nutritious food for low-income New Yorkers through a range of programs and services that focus on food procurement and distribution, education, nutrition, financial empowerment, research and policy.
The Food Bank For New York City procures and distributes food through more than 1,000 emergency and community food programs, assisting the approximately 1.3 million New Yorkers who access emergency food. The organization provides food safety, networking and capacity-building workshops; manages nutrition education programs for schools, after-school and emergency food programs; operates food stamp outreach and education programs; operates senior programs, a soup kitchen, and food pantry; coordinates the largest Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) program in the country; and conducts research and develops policy to inform community and government efforts to end hunger throughout the five boroughs.
The Food Bank has been given the top four-star rating for excellence and efficiency in the successful management of organizational finances for the thirdyear in a row from Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest independent charity evaluator. For every dollar donated to the Food Bank, 96 cents goes toward food acquisition, distribution and programs. For additional information, go to www.foodbanknyc.org
Share our Strength
Since 1984, Share Our Strength has led the fight against hunger and poverty by inspiring individuals and businesses to share their strengths. Today, its priority is to end childhood hunger in America. By raising funds to support the most effective community-based programs that feed hungry children, partnering with organizations that pursue long-term solutions, and helping families help themselves through nutrition education programs, Share Our Strength will ensure that the more than 12 million children at risk of hunger have access to the nutritious food they need to learn, grow and thrive.
